June 10 1933 Launched by Cochrane & Son Ltd, Selby (Yd.No.1112) for Hudson Steam Fishing Co Ltd, Hull as CAPE BATHURST. First trawler to be built with a cruiser stern
July 21 1933 Registered at Hull (H496).
July 1933Completed.
1934Hudson Brothers Trawlers Ltd appointed managers.
1935Sold to The Admiralty.
November 26 1935 Hull registry closed. Converted to a "Gem" class anti submarine trawler.
February 09 1942Picked up the only survivor of the trawler MANOR in the channel whilst escorting convoy WP.183.
1944Assigned to Operation Neptune - Normandy landings.
May 23 1944Convoy escort duties in British waters and across the Channel in support of landings.
July 03 1944Operation Neptune ended.
September 18 1945Escorting damaged French submarine MINERVE, Liverpool-Cherbourg, in tow of tug ELAN II (Lieut. M. Bishop RNVR). In gale conditions in Lyme Bay decided to round Portland Bill and shelter in Portland. Tug lost tow in race and submarine went ashore on the Bill. Returned to scene in very bad weather and sustained extensive minor damage.
April 26 1946Sold to J. Marr & Son Ltd, Fleetwood for £12,650 and re-classed. Renamed CARELLA (FD216).
December 13 1948 Sold to Henderson's Trawling Co Ltd, Hull (J. Marr & Son Ltd, managers) for £61,000. Registered at Hull (H4).
02/1948 - 02/1950Landing at Fleetwood.
December 1951Sold to Dinas Steam Trawling Co Ltd, Fleetwood (Frank Marr, manager).
1953Registered at Fleetwood (FD319).
April 1959Alleged fishing inside Icelandic 4 mile limit.
