January 17 1938 Launched by Smith's Dock Co Ltd, South Bank-on-Tees, Middlesbrough (Yd.No.1034) for Ayrshire Fishing Co Ltd, London (William A. Bennett, manager) as AYRSHIRE.
February 1938 Completed (H. Markham Cook, manager). Registered at Grimsby (GY520)
August 1939Sold to Hellyer Bros Ltd, Hull Registered at Hull (H113).
September 1939Requisitioned for war service and converted for anti-submarine duties (P.No.FY.225). Based Rosyth.
February 20 1940On patrol off Copinsay, attacked by two German aircraft, FIFESHIRE sunk but attackers withdrew.
August 1941Transferred to Iceland for convoy escort duties. Murmansk convoys including Convoy PQ17. Acted as escort in convoy PQ17. After the convoy was forced to scatter she found several stragglers and guided them up to the ice. Her CO had the idea of painting the ships white on the south facing sides to blend in with the ice. They reached Russia in safety.
1945Sold to Devon Fishing Co Ltd, Hull (Mark Hellyer & Graham Hellyer, managers).
October 1945Returned after survey and restoration at Middlesbrough
1946Renamed MACBETH (H113).
1953Sold to Hellyer Bros. Ltd, Hull (Mark Hellyer & Graham Hellyer, managers).
1963Company amalgamated with Associated Fisheries.
May 25 1963Transferred within the Associated Fisheries Group to Wyre Trawlers Ltd, Fleetwood.
1964Registered at Fleetwood (FD74).
1966Sold for demolition.
