Whilst on the slipway a discharge valve was removed for refurbishment to be replaced afloat on the Sunday. During the course of time a ledge had built up at the coaling berth, but at normal dock levels this did not foul the berth. On the Sunday the number of vessels entering the dock required the lock gates to remain open and the dock level began to fall. As a result the bilge keel settled on the ledge and the vessel began to heel over with water ingress through the missing valve. The fish dock tugs BERNIE (54grt/1944) and KIERO (54grt/1943) witnessed the mishap and with a water boat, came alongside to prop the trawler up to prevent total submersion. At the same time dock workers went on board and attached wires to the quayside in an effort to keep the vessel up. Pumps were placed on board and gradually the trawler was righted. The missing valve was replaced and she was taken back onto the slipway for repairs and return to sea.
1.1950: Converted for burning oil fuel, F.P. above 150° F.
5.12.1950: Sold to Trawlers Grimsby Ltd, Grimsby (Harold Wilfred Wilson, manager).
10.4.1953: Sold to Derwent Trawlers Ltd, Grimsby (Harold Wilfred Wilson, manager).
1953: Made three trips to Greenland fishery.
9.2.1955: John Carl Ross appointed manager.
8.3.1956: Charles Percy Hudson appointed manager.
20.2.1959: Company re-styled Ross Trawlers Ltd, Grimsby.
28.3.1963: Sold to Hudson Brothers Trawlers Ltd, Hull (Charles Percy Hudson, manager) (Ross Group, Grimsby).
18.11.1964: Sold to Alsey Steam Fishing Co Ltd, Grimsby (Charles Percy Hudson, manager).
1.1.1965: Company re-styled Hudson Fishing Co Ltd, Grimsby (Charles Percy Hudson, manager).
11.1965: All vessels within the Ross Group renamed with Ross prefix.
24.11.1965: Registered at Hull as ROSS CANOPUS (H244).
30.3.1966: Sold to Hudson Brothers Trawlers Ltd, Hull (Charles Percy Hudson, manager).
7.1967: Sold to Scrappingco S.r.l, Antwerp for breaking up.
19.7.1967: Sailed Hull for Antwerp under tow.
21.7.1967: Hull registry closed.
22.7.1967: Delivered and broken up at Boom.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-18390" src="http://www.fleetwood-trawlers.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Northella-300x189.jpg" alt="S.T.
