History

1918: Ordered by The Admiralty from J. W. Brooke & Co Ltd, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft (“Admiralty drifter”) as OCEAN SWELL.
17.12.1918: Order cancelled but steel ordered and decided to go ahead with build on spec.
1920: Launched (Yd.No.16) for John W. Brooke (32/64) & John W. M. Brooke (32/64), Lowestoft as OCEAN SWELL.
10.1920: Completed.
27.10.1920: Registered at Lowestoft (LT1211).
30.10.1923: Sold to W. J. E. Green Ltd, Great Yarmouth.(Bloomfields Ltd, managers).
18.2.1924: Lowestoft registry closed.
19.2.1924: Registered at Yarmouth (YH471).
13.10.1924: Lost half a fleet of nets but still hauled 250 crans of herring.
28.7.1925: W. J. E. Green Ltd, became managing owners.
10.11.1927: In collision with steam drifter YOUNG SID (LT1175) in Lowestoft harbour.
1930s: Seasonal white fish trawling from Fleetwood (Sir Alec Black, Bart, managing agent).
10.11.1931: Connected to disabled Danish motor vessel BERENT (293grt/1931) off Smiths Knoll Light vessel and delivered off Yarmouth transferring tow to steam tug TACTFUL (112grt/1909) to bring into harbour. Awarded £500 salvage money.
28.10.1939: Requisitioned for war service for boom defence duties (P.No.Z163) (Hire rate £32.0.0d).
27.8.1945: Returned to owner. (At Yarmouth (Sk. Reggie Russell), first vessel to land herring after WW2).
1954: Sold to Belgium for breaking up.
2.9.1954: Sailed Yarmouth for Belgium.
14.9.1954: Yarmouth registry closed.
